Now for the assembly of the mechanics.

Painted fuel tank fitted

Silver paint applied for protection against corrosion

Although beautifully finished by SP Components after rebuilding with a long first gear, I want to paint it.

Engine mounts and water rail painted

Gearbox mount, expansion bottle mount all painted

Alternator, water rail and manifold gasket ready for fitting

Bellhousing and starter aluminium mount, all painted with etch and top coat

Change of job-fitting boot cover.

And harnesses.

SP Components gearbox attached to the 1.6k series engine

At last!!!!! In the engine goes with help from Borders7er Neville.

Where are the engine mounts?

It is IN!!!!!

Neville removes the lifting mount (while thinking about how he can get a new 7 kit without his wife knowing!!!)

Coming along now. A proper car now, with engine.

More wires to connect up and tie out of sight

Hole cut. Breath again!!!

Tense moment. Will it fit? Hole cut for the exhaust.

One step closer to starting up!

Lights on, radiator on, pipes connected....

See, they are connected!

And the other side. Still a bit of tidying up to be done!

Progress, nearly ready to start

Just keep taking more pictures, can't believe it is almost finished.

What yellow nose???? In GRP!!!!

Petrol tank connected, the tank is slightly further forward than normal

Aero filler cap. But can I get a petrol pump nossel in???

Carbon cases for the fog light to match the cases on the wings for the rear lights

Boot cover fitted with velcro

Finishing off the interior plus adding SVA trim

Tunnel top trimmed

Raceparts sealed battery and custom case

Bolted to the scuttle with riv-nuts

Looks neat and tidy now I figured out where the wires are going!!!
